Bolinas/Bodega Bay

It started, as most mid-week rides start, with an email message. The result was a plan to meet at the north end of the Golden Gate bridge at 9 AM, go to breakfast, then ride to the coast over the Fairfax-Bolinas road. At breakfast we decided to detour to the Mt Tam observation area, too.

I took eleventy-seven pictures but most of them came out crap and were thrown away. I've been playing with manual exposure and this ride proved that I still have a lot to learn before I start getting it right. Some of the salvageable images follow.

I wasn't the only one to take pictures. Chris sent a bunch, too. Link.

Bob sent this picture of me on the bridge of Alpine Lake on the Fairfax-Bolinas road.

At the bottom of the Fairfax-Bolinas Rd we headed North on the coast highway with a stop at Pt Reyes so Chris and Rob could have a smoke break: there was no smoking allowed on Mt Tam. After the break we continued North to Bodega Bay with a stop at the Tides for coffee and a snack. Rob and I took a direct route home from there, Chris and Bob weren't in as much of a hurry.

Rob and I hit the GG bridge just before 4 PM. Being cheap, I took the last exit and stopped to take some more pictures, killing the few minutes needed for car pool rates (free for motorcycles) went into effect.
