These pictures are from Chris. Marc’s pictures from this
little ride (about 250 miles if my GPS is to be believed... the same GPS
that said my top speed for the day was {snicker} over 150 MPH :-) can be
seen further on down the page.

I’ve corresponded with Steve’n Kathy (Colorado residents
and long-time friends of Bob and Polly Burns) for about a year now.
They’re out visiting and today I got to meet them for the first time.
They’re on a shake-down cruise with a new R1200GS and today was
dedicated to showing them some backroads in Marin and Sonoma Counties.

I picked up WWWobble, Stopwatch, and Mrs Stopwatch at
WWWobble’s house (about a mile from my house). From there we rode the
great highway, past the Legion of Honor, and through the Presidio to the
Golden Gate Bridge. The captain was waiting on the north side of the
bridge where he ignored our arrival.

We stopped at the Cheese Factory to remove a layer. Note that the
Captain’s bike is fully loaded for a day trip. He says it’s just to get
used to his new bike loaded for his upcoming ride to the MOA rally in
Vermont.
The next group of pictures were taken at our stop for lunch.

This was the final stop of the day, before getting onto 101
and doing the freeway drone home. I used this stop as an opportunity to
photograph the home made BMW bling on Steve’s GS.
