Mid-Week Rides: Looking for cool weather
The primary purpose for this ride was the same as usual: to ride! That said, there was a secondary goal of looking for cooler temperatures than the triple digits we’d been enjoying for the last few days. WWWobble suggested following the coast north then turning around and following it back south. A ride was born.
Note the blue sky as we leave the San Mateo Highlands. Note the fog in San Francisco. Major WWWobble didn’t just find cool weather, he found the cold stuff.
We left the fog on the north side of the Golden Gate bridge and didn’t run into it again until we hit the bridge again on the way home although we could see it hugging the coast (pic below). I put 210 miles on my GS, mostly in 70 degree weather. I traveled some roads that I’d never been on, before (Joy Rd off of Coleman Valley Rd). Doesn’t get much better than that.
