Diablo and Blackhawk
Chris says:
There was a notification SNAFU (no relation to snafu.org mind you...), that
was ALL MINE, and I humbly apologize. However, the four intrepid riders
had a great ride, plus the six-mile 'wendy' because a certian 'bushman' was
just there and it was a 'right-turn', when I said 'left-turn'. The good
looking one was right afterall! We got to see the 'movie' at the visitor
center atop Mt. Diablo, and tour same (closed in previous visits...).
Zunkel went-off on his own at the Blackhawk Auto Museum where the 'old-fart'
opted for the senior rate and saved $3.
Note: Dick's retirement party was hosted at the museum in a private party, catered affair.
Bill, having dependability problems with his motors, rode one of the Captain's other motors...as had everyone else on the ride at one time or another. He paid a high price though, had to help re-hang a screen door upon arrival back in Pacifica.
Marco missed it through my error (humble, really humble apoligies Marco...), Maple, probably the same reason, and the very tender Major, had a cough and stayed home with the lovely Miss Polly.
I learned that contrary to visual observation, Mt. Diablo IS NOT, NOR EVER WAS, a volvano. And the Blackhawk Auto Museum? Can't wait to return again...took lot's of pictures - yet to be viewed.
