I proved my nack for picking roads that are closed or under construction is unabated this short mid-week ride. At least this time the actual route pretty much followed the plan, save one missed left turn that required a U and the back-track as we followed-temporary-leader-Dick for a mile and a half to an air conditioned restaurant with cold drinks. Much better than the hot and dusty railroad yard where Marc decided to stop!
The group only had to follow the pilot car on Marsh Creek for about 3 miles… at 15 MPH. Dick was a bit worried about the motor officer in our midst after we left the pilot car, but we weren’t going very fast due to the gravel on the road. The officer gave leader Marc a friendly wave as he passed.
Short ride. A little hot, but not too bad. Where are we going to go next?
